"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
- John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. How mind-blowing, mysterious, awe-inspiring, and beautiful is that?
In the middle of this Christmas season and hearing the Christmas story again, let's remind ourselves that Jesus was the Word in human form. He was the same Word who was there in the beginning when everything was made.
When we live a life surrendered to Jesus and walk in Him daily, we are walking with the one who was called the Word.
It's kind of like the way someone's voice is inextricably part of who they are. When you know someone closely, you can recognize their voice instantly. Jesus is the voice of God, the message of God, the sound of God living and walking and speaking. And we get to know Him.
The words in the pages of our Bible point us to Him, reveal Him to us, and show us what His voice sounds like. But He is ultimately the Word.
Let's praise Him for His goodness, grace and truth this season!
